Courageous Living: How to Embrace Life's Challenges with Confidence and Passion
Quick Update: I’ve launched two new pages. A speaking page with topics for keynote speeches, workshops, and virtual appearances and a separate one for churches with a bit more focus on the faith-based community.
I have lived in six countries across four continents, experiencing firsthand a military coup in Chile, a civil war in Mozambique, and the fall of the USSR. By age 25, I had encountered more hardship, danger, poverty, and other obstacles than most Americans will face in a lifetime.
Not mastering fear in those circumstances was never an option for me. It turns out that mastering anxiety, fear, and insecurity ( which all come from the same place) is vital to succeed at pretty much anything.
Forget about movie courage; start with micro-courage, the daily moments where you take courageous steps or embrace courageous thoughts. Watch your passion rise.
From the moment you open your eyes in the morning, you encounter resistance. Everyone faces this reality, and your first win should happen in the first five minutes after waking up—it sets the tone for the day. Win in the first five minutes. Watch the day change direction.
How will you respond to disappointing news, unmet expectations at work, hurt from a loved one, low energy levels, or moments of mental fog? These are the micro things that make up the macro stuff. The things we dream of and rarely accomplish.
I've recorded this episode of Headspace by Christian Ray Flores, highlighting a few ways to train yourself to live a fearless, courageous life. Will you watch it?
If you decide to watch it (it will be time well spent), I have a favor to ask. Please subscribe to the YouTube channel and help us reach our first milestone of 1,000 subscribers.
Send me a note, I really want to know how this resonates with you. What obstacles are you face, and what topics you want me to unpack next.
