That feeling of getting stuck in a rut is masking something else. A deep sort of knowing you were meant for more than you are experiencing. Recognize the mask and look beyond it.
The mask is fear of failure. Paradoxically, it is also a fear of success. At its deepest - it’s fear of rejection. Most people will stop short of experiencing what is in store for them by not transcending this fear.
On the other side of this fear is a business that serves others, a marriage you always wanted, and deep friendships you had struggled to develop. On the other side is the answer to the feeling of being meant for more.
I have worked with, coached, and consulted many accomplished people. What all of them have in common is the capacity to overcome fear by leaning into it. It’s not a flashy, movie-worthy moment of heroic effort. It’s more of a skill, a discipline that can be summoned on demand.
The good news is - anyone can learn this skill.
If you want to learn these skills, I’m hosting a webinar for those stuck in their careers. March 9th at 12PM CST - I’ll share simple and proven steps to Recalibrate and Reinvent a career.
I’ve reimagined my career several times and will share my mistakes, learnings, and how you can reach that place you feel compelled to reach.
I’m easing into this topic in the latest episode of Headspace, unpacking how to deal with the rut, fear of change, and lack of clarity that can feel frustrating and overwhelming. I share real-life examples of this in my career shifts and the three questions we can ask ourselves to get out of the rut.
Enjoy, and leave me questions in the comment section on YouTube. Also - find Headspace by Christian Ray Flores on all podcast platforms if that’s your preferred format, and leave us a rating and review.
