How Socialism, Communism, and Marxism are influencing culture in America
High level obervations from growing up in the USSR
I recently had the privilege of giving three back-to-back talks in Washington, DC, thanks to an invitation from the lead pastor of NewLife Church, Brett Andrews. Brett and I had a conversation about Marxism, Socialism, and Communism. What made this discussion unique is that it drew from my personal experiences and expertise.
When it comes to experiences, I can say that I've had a firsthand look into these ideologies. I grew up in the USSR and later lived in two other countries that experimented with these worldviews. Those experiences have left a lasting impression on me.
Speaking of expertise, I hold a Master's degree in Economics. During my academic journey, I actually delved into the works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, researching and writing papers on their ideologies. So, I've got both personal and academic insights that may be helpful.
The back story to this unusual invitation from Brett: A couple of years ago, I penned a longer post that gained quite a bit of traction. In it, I explained why I'm deeply concerned about how prevalent these ideas have become in the US.
After spending an entire day engaging with thousands of people on this topic in DC, I thought it would be a great idea to create a short video. In it, I discuss why these ideologies can be deceptively appealing and how they are shaping our culture today, with far-reaching implications for both us and our children.
