Sex can be primal, it can also be sacred.
How we experience our sexuality colors our entire life from young to old and can either make or break us.
I grew up with no strong cultural or parental guidance on sex. After significant emotional and spiritual damage to myself and others, I didn’t get that figured out until I was 26, which is when I became a Christian. The sex thing was completely reframed culturally through community and expert mentorship.
Over two decades have passed since. I’m deliriously happy in my marriage, and my sex life is better than ever. My wife Deb and I have helped hundreds of couples build strong, loving, and sexually vibrant marriages over the years. The ones who do well, in the long run, know this - sex is one of the core things you want to figure out if you are to flourish in life.
As a driven and ambitious man, I have this truth engrained in my very soul
If you win at work and lose at home - you have lost everywhere.
In this Third Drive Stage episode, I speak to a friend and world-renowned sexologist Dr. Joe Beam. Joe is the founder of MarriageHelper.org and has helped countless couples in their sex lives, often bringing them back from the brink of divorce into a loving marriage.
Note - I’ve put the Third Drive Stage channel on ice for a while as I want to focus on developing the Headspace Channel. So if you haven’t already, subscribe to the Headspace Youtube Channel - we have some amazing content planned.
Back to Joe.
What I love about Joe beyond his world-class expertise is that he’s personally experienced the dark side of sex and has a powerful story of redemption and renewal, so watch the whole thing; you’ll thank me later.
