Rewiring Fear

In my latest post, I made the case for publishing your expertise — and why most people don’t.

Check it out here.

The reasons are predictable. I wrestle with them too:

fear of judgment by peers, underestimating the value we bring, and assuming too few people will care for it to matter.

The truth? The opposite is usually the case — if we do the work of rewiring the automatic loops in our mind. Most of us run on mental autopilot, powered by outdated “software” that quietly dictates how we think, feel, and act. The trick is to reprogram it.

A few years ago, one of my daughters was in a scary accident that totaled her car. For months after, she had sudden waves of anxiety behind the wheel. Her driving skills hadn’t changed. The probability of another accident was the same as before. But the emotional imprint in her brain made her perceive driving as more dangerous than it really was.

That’s neuroplasticity at work — the brain’s remarkable ability to literally rewire itself by forming new connections. It’s how we learn new skills, recover from setbacks, and reshape habits. Change isn’t just possible at any age — it’s built into our design.

And that’s the path out of the three blocks that keep so many from publishing and productizing their expertise. A lot of the hands-on work we do with our clients at Xponential is the inner game of rewiring as well as the outer game of showing up in the world and doing the extraordinary work you’re meant to do.

👉 for my paid subscribers — how to rewire each block so it loses power over you.
