Why most people choose to stay unhappy and spread that around
It may be different with you; I tend to gravitate towards existential anxiety during the holidays. I think it has something to do with a break in the routine and the end of another year. So I go with the flow and spend considerable time every end of the year by myself and with my wife Deb examining my life and our life. Dreaming and planning new beginnings.
This end of the year marks a new beginning. The launch of a Happiness Coaching Program for high-achievers. Yes, it’s that specific. I have good reasons for it - I was an unhappy high-achiever in my mid 20’s. Entertaining millions as a singer, I was “living the dream”- except I was profoundly unhappy.
I went on a quest to change that and have been both a student and coach to many who made the same transition. In spite of the inevitable suffering of life, I’ve been exceedingly happy for the last 25 years; I’ve gone way above my initial professional success and have helped many other high achievers do the same.
To mark the launch of the “official” happiness program, I’m hosting a series of zoom chats to tell people more about it and enrolling the first very limited group into the program.
If you are successful and unhappy - you are invited. And, by the way, congratulations on being this self-aware, where most people are not. The program is actually designed NOT to be a fit for everyone so that it can be a perfect fit for someone very specific.
So why attend? You’ll get some clarity around what you’re experiencing, and you can help me with feedback on how to improve it.
Before you brush it off as perhaps too heavy of a subject for the holiday season, consider this:
Newton’s first law - “A body at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by a force” I believe also applies to life journeys. So…
Anxiety does not just go away
Burnout does not fix itself
Relational problems just don't dissolve
Dead-end careers don't just open up
New year resolutions won't fix it, and we all know it.
But change is painful, so most people actually choose to stay unhappy and unfulfilled. They actually choose to spread their misery around rather than engage with reality and apply benevolent force to a very real problem. Just sayin’
If you are successful on the outside and unhappy on the inside. I think you’ll enjoy the chat. There are only 25 spots available. Register here.
