Today’s Deep Dive
In a culture that treats the body as decoration or an afterthought, we miss the most obvious truth:
Your body is the thermostat for your brain.
When your nervous system is overloaded, your energy crashes, your thinking clouds, and your creativity flatlines.
Your calling is diminished when you don’t honor your body as a God-given vessel — not a project to fix, but a foundation to steward.
Nearly 3 in 4 U.S. adults are overweight — and millions report constant anxiety, low energy, and brain fog.
We’re running on empty, wired on caffeine, and undernourished by diets packed with ultra-processed food.
Then we wonder why we can’t think clearly or create at our best.
I know this firsthand.
In my 20s through my mid-30s, I was in peak shape.
But life got complex — family, leadership, kids. At some point, my standards drifted.
I wasn’t unhealthy, but I had slipped into mediocrity.
I told myself it was fine… until I realized how much it was costing me.
For the past 5–6 years, I’ve taken my body and mind seriously — and the results are undeniable.
Joy. Mental sharpness. Creativity on demand.
They’re not accidents. They’re habits. And I will never go back.
Here’s the truth most people never realize:
You don’t find energy. You generate it.
And once you do, you need to learn how to invest it wisely.
A tired body leads to a foggy mind — and fog leads to reactivity, not creativity.
But a strong body creates emotional stability. A clear head. Fresh ideas.
Fitness isn’t about aesthetics — it’s about capacity.
Your nervous system is your fuel line.
If it’s flooded with stress hormones, don’t expect to thrive.
But when joy, strength, and clarity become your baseline — success becomes inevitable.
This is why Olympic athletes don’t win on talent alone.
They win because they don’t show up depleted.
They protect their capacity. They steward their vessel.
For me, that looks like this:
Early to bed. Early to rise.
Water, supplements, light a candle, journal, music, write.
Walk, lift, learn, pray, connect with Deb.
By 9am, I’m in peak creative and cognitive shape.
Throughout the day — I move. Walking meetings, breaks, unprocessed food, protein, veggies, fruit.
It’s a rhythm, not a rule. But it’s non-negotiable.
And I’d challenge you to consider this:
If your body is carrying your calling…
Are you honoring it like something sacred?
Our life is either a warning or an example.
I’m determined that mine will be an example.
